Now, I do have to apologize because this isn't going to be a "design" so much of an example of what shatter looks like. You can't really plan it too much. The shatter will go in the direction that you brush it. On my toes it's horizontal and on my thumb its verticle. Also, the ammount you put on also affects the pattern somewhat (here it is "thin" looking, but on the other thumb it was more blocky because I put a thicker coat on). Its part of what makes it so exciting! The overall design for this manicure was a pink, purple, yellow/orange diagonal stripe pattern with one nail's stripes going in a different direction. I then added the shatter in black to the nails and outlined the opposite-direction-stripes in black on the non-shatter nail. The best part is that we have this new machine at work that uses a black light to tell if money is fake or not, and the yellow/orange glowed under it and it looked soooo cool with the black shatter on top. If I ever end up going to a club or black light party, I'll make sure to try completely neon colors and the shatter! SOO COOL!
This next design is the one I recently did. I got a new color at work after a not so great work week, and its a sally hansen instant dry polish. The brush that came with the blue background color is nice and flat and allows for a very even paint job. I also got a set of 15 nail art brushes and they are AMAZINGLY fun to play with! I tried a new way of doing roses with the brushes, as seen on my thumb, but I went back to my original way since the light pink I have is glumpy and gross and I couldn't make such nice swirls. (must get new pink polish or that stuff to make polish not clumpy). Also, as you may have noticed, my nails are small. I don't mean just length, but like width and everything. It makes it hard to NOT get polish all over my skin. I'm pretty good at removing it and it mostly comes off the skin in the shower, but this picture is post shower and there's still some polish on my skin there. My toe nails are even worse; I have to paint a fake toe nail on my little toe because its soo small!
